About Us

Mobile Exercise Physiology Launceston is a mobile service that empowers wellness through movement - Founded locally by Crista Reid, ESSA Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Over 10 years clinical experience supporting people with a wide range of multiple and complex comorbidities and conditions with people from 5 to 101 years of age in home visit and private clinic settings.

Lung Health

I have specialised interest and training with Respiratory Health having undertaken additional study with airway clearance and running 'Lungs in Action' programs. I am currently involved with Monash University working as part of a research study for people who have COPD. I also have experience with Lung Specific assessments such as Spirometry.

Motivational Interviewing

I have done numerous professional development courses on Motivational Interviewing, as well as having my skills being assessed by a Health Psychologist to work with Monash University. This furthered my knowledge and expertise in how to assist people with motivational barriers and how to help people maintain their healthy lifestyle changes.

Disability

Aside from working as an Exercise Physiologist with NDIS participants, additionally I have over 7 years experience supporting people living with disabilities as a former Support Worker and current Habit coach.

Weight Loss

Supported patients undergoing Bariatric Surgery with the Adelaide Metabolic and Obesity Surgery team with pre and post op care to ensure weight loss and lifestyle changes are maintained. This care includes behaviour change assistance and motivational interviewing.

I've always been passionate about all pillars of health. I believe to have good quality of life its important to balance the following:

  • Sleep, rest and recovery
  • Mental health and relaxation
  • Social connection and doing things that bring you joy.

I enjoy helping people realise their full potential in improving their overall health. Occasionally our priorities shift due to changes in life circumstances. By striving towards a better balance, perhaps with a little help, you can always make positive changes in your life to be able to do more things that you enjoy.

I enjoy staying active through a range of hobbies including; attending the local park run, walking and training my pup 'Elsie', salsa dancing, hiking, horse and mountain bike riding.

Private Health

If you have private health cover with extras, you may be able to claim back a portion of the consultation costs. You do not need a referral from your GP to access our services with Private Health.

NDIS

If you are supported through the NDIS under either 'Self Managed' or 'Plan Managed', you may be able to access our services through the capacity building categories 'Improved Health and Well being' or 'Improved Daily Living'.

Yes, we cater programs for all ages. We specialise in providing tailored exercise physiology that helps you maintain independence, improves stability, strength and mobility that in turn improves your quality of life.

An Accredited Exercise Physiologist is a University qualified allied health professional who specialises in the delivery of exercise and lifestyle programs for healthy individuals and those with chronic medical conditions, injuries or disabilities.

The first consultation is about learning about you, your medical history, and your likes and dislikes. We assess your fitness, provide you with education, and together work on setting goals that are meaningful to you and your health. This information is so we can formulate the most effective individualised Management Plan for you.

Yes! Although early intervention is key we can still assist you in improving you pain, mobility and functional capacity.

I have experience with working with people with Diabetes, Asthma & Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Heart & Lung Conditions, Hypertension, Spinal Cord Injuries, Cerebral Palsy, Chronic Pain, Stroke, Motor Neurone Diesease, Parkinsons Disease, Obesity, Cancer, Depression, Osteoporosis, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), pre and post operative Joint Replacement rehabilitation, and Age Related deconditioning and numerous disabilities.
